Recently an earthquake devastated Haiti, taking thousands of lives and destroying cities and homes. Yesterday, an earthquake hit Chile, an 8.8 on the rector scale with aftershocks of 7.8, equivalent to another earthquake. The people are calm in the chaos and destruction around them. I pray for the people and families whose homes were destroyed and loved ones lost.
These events make me look at how fortunate I am and all the blessings I have. You should count your own, because we always have more than we realize. Even if times are really hard right now, someone else is going through the same thing or worse.
One thing that I find interesting is the number of earthquakes so close together. And the magnitude of the one in Haiti and Chile was not anything near small, they were huge. What is this supposed to mean? Anything, or nothing? And its just the earth adjusting and we don’t need to think that the world is going to end(like some of the attitudes about global warming).

“Thousands of scientists are capable of assesing it. The only reason to keep it hidden, locked in the clutches of the elite few, is that it decisivly disproves their computer models and shows that their draconian emission controls are based on nothing except a lust for power, control and profit.” Dr. Jane M. Orient, president of the Doctors for Disaster Preparedness.
This is just one of the coments on the Himalayan glacier scam. An article was released today disproving the report that the glaciers would be totally dissolved by 2035. Apparntly the computer models and data were fake and the issue was politized as a money maker and used in a power struggle. During a disscusion with my dad we realized that sometimes ( or alot of the times apparently) scientists will create a fake issue for money. If a scientist is given say $50,000 to find and correct a possible pollution problem but there turns out to be no problem, there is the possibility that a “problem” will be found. Because if there is no problem there is no money. And that is the issue with todays culture, money is ranked higher than the truth. In todays case with the Himalayan glaciers, for 3 years people have been anticipating, preparing, spending money, passing laws for a cause that is no problem at all. It is a waste of 3 years of resources and peoples lives. All for the want of money and power. The thought that someone would lie to the world for money is (stupid) incredible. That today our moral has fallen so low that we cannot even trust scientists, who have dedicated themselfs to understanding the world, not confusing it.

People ask what came first, the chicken or the egg? Well what came first, the question or the answer? Questions are asked because of what we know from other answers. Its a continual cycle. But I think the world containes all the answers already, you just have to ask the right questions. Philosphers may spend years trying to answer a question, but what if the question is wrong, or its actually an answer to a bigger question. We ask questions, the world gives answers. When we think of a problem as an answer, could we find the question. Because if questions and answers are a continual cycle, this would be just another way to problem solve.

So people always say that redheads have such bad tempers….and then we blow up in your face telling you we don’t have a temper. Pretty hypocritical huh? Well I am a redhead and its really annoying to have people make comments about redheads having tempers cause its not true…….actually I don’t know if I know a shy redhead, we’re pretty far out there and definitely a minority. Why do people stereotype us that way anyway? Just because we have fiery hair doesn’t mean we act like fire. Ok so maybe we do sometimes, but its in our Irish or Scottish blood, we embrace our heritage. Some redheads do have tempers, but did you every stop to think that maybe the temper comes from being told you have one? They get so tired of hearing so much about tempers that they develop one. Anyway, I love my red hair, totally matches my personality if I say so myself. So do me a favor and stop saying redheads have tempers, then you wont have to see our tempers at all!!

For a writing compitition the topic is “Beauty is…..” Makes you think huh? I think Ill write a poem. But I’ll have to be creative because I dont think the judges will want to read hundreds of papers and poems about how the inside is more valuable than the outside, all the regular stuff schools teach about to boost your self confidence. If I could write a story within a poem, that could be good.
Beauty is like something that starts out rough and becomes refined and…..well, beautiful. People say that the journey is worth more than where you are going, like in a basketball game. Winning is great, but knowing all your hard work payed off is even better.
What do you think of when you hear beauty?

Time is and would be the solution to humanities problems. If humans had longer life, we would have more time to study things and develop and have a clearer understanding of simple things that today we glance over in order to get to the big questions. Conflicts could be resolved before they started if everyone was not in a rush to get bigger and better before they died. So if time is the solution, how much do you have?
